DIVERSITY & LEADERSHIP E-LEARNING COURSE

NASPA and ACPA are presenting an E-Learning course focusing on diversity and leadership: "Leadership for Diversity Institute: Creating a Campus to Which People Want to Belong", February 3 - 21, 2004. The e-course will focus on a set of leadership principles developed by the National Coalition Building Institute. Department Heads, Directors and Supervisors will begin to practice important behaviors needed to create an environment in which people from diverse backgrounds want to belong. Courses are $125 for members, $50 for student members, and $150 for nonmembers. Please join in this three-week online course led by Robert Dungy from NCBI. For more information, please visit:

AAC&U CONFERENCE ON PEDAGOGIES OF ENGAGEMENT

NASPA is joining with AAC&U in a conference to be held April 15-17, 2004 called the "Pedagogies of Engagement: New Designs for Learning In and Across the Disciplines." This conference will bring together faculty, student affairs professionals, students, and community partners committed to engaged learning.  Participants will discuss how to institutionalize effective strategies that engage students in learning experiences connected to their own goals and advance their sense of social responsibility. NATIONAL STUDENT AFFAIRS ASSESSMENT & RETENTION CONFERENCE - CALL FOR PROGRAMS

NASPA and Arizona State University are proud to offer a National Student Affairs Assessment and Retention Conference to be held June 3, 4 and 5, 2004 in the Phoenix, AZ area.  Recently, student affairs divisions have been asked to produce measurable outcomes of student learning and development.  Assessment is then linked directly with retention efforts.  Understanding factors which influence retention and developing effective strategies to reduce attrition are critical to our profession.  We are asking our members to submit quality programs on these two topics.  To learn more about this conference or to submit a program, please visit:
